Overview

Salt City Solar will be built on approximately 450 acres in a rural area of Ross County. It will help diversify the vibrant economic base in Ross County and generate substantial tax benefits to the local community, especially the local school district. Located just outside the City of Chillicothe, the project will begin construction in Q1 2022 and be operational in the winter of 2022.

Project Details

Real Estate

  • 3 parcels with nearly 850 acres under lease
  • Project access mainly through public roads with an additional private access easement
  • A 0.45-mile transmission easement is secured to connect the project to the grid

Interconnection 

  • Interconnection Service Agreement and Interconnection Construction Service Agreement executed in September 2021
  • Project will interconnect to the Delano 138kV substation approximately one-half mile to the south

  • Army Corps of Engineers Approved Jurisdictional Determination complete
  • No biological, cultural, or wetland impacts of concern have been identified

Permitting

  • Construction Stormwater NOI is pending
  • US Army Corps wetland permitting pending final design
  • Ohio Power Siting Board Letter of Notification for the generation tie-line may be required pending final design
