HOUSTON, Texas, August 3, 2026 — ENGIE North America today announced that Anne-Laure Chassanite has been named interim Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, while the company continues its search for a full-time successor to David Carroll. Carroll last week stepped down from his roles as CEO of ENGIE North America and Chief Renewables Officer.

Chassanite currently serves as CEO of ENGIE Resources, a role she will continue to hold while serving as interim CEO of ENGIE North America. She brings more than 19 years of energy sector experience across Europe and the United States. Since joining ENGIE in 2007, she has held operational, commercial, and leadership roles across the business, including serving as Vice President of Power Supply for ENGIE North America and as Managing Director of Storengy UK, ENGIE’s gas storage business in the United Kingdom, where she oversaw operations from April 2022 to January 2025.

“ENGIE North America has a clear strategy, strong momentum, and a deeply experienced team,” Chassanite said. “My focus during this interim period will be on continuity: supporting our employees, serving our customers and partners, and ensuring the business continues to execute on its priorities while the search for a full-time CEO moves forward.”

ENGIE North America’s business, operations, and strategic priorities remain unchanged. The company will continue operating as usual, supported by a deep and experienced leadership team and well-established governance processes.

As part of the transition, Emmanuel Sbravati, Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer for ENGIE North America Renewables and Battery Energy Storage Systems, will serve on an interim basis in Carroll’s role as Chief Renewables Officer.

Carroll joined ENGIE in 2020 and has overseen a period of significant growth and expansion across the company’s North American operations. During his tenure, ENGIE North America expanded its renewable energy and storage portfolio, strengthened customer partnerships, and further established itself as a leader in meeting growing energy demand with reliable and innovative solutions.

“After six years with ENGIE, I have decided the time is right to begin my next professional chapter,” Carroll said. “Serving in this role has been a privilege, and I am deeply grateful for the dedication, professionalism, and partnership of colleagues across the organization. ENGIE is exceptionally well positioned for continued growth, with a tremendous team, a robust portfolio of projects, and strong momentum across every part of the business. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and confident ENGIE North America will continue to grow, innovate, and succeed in the years ahead.”

“Over the past six years, Dave has played an instrumental role in driving ENGIE’s growth in North America,” said Pedro Vasconcelos, Executive Vice President of ENGIE’s Renewable & Flexible Power Global Business Unit. “His leadership has helped position ENGIE North America for long-term success. He leaves behind an exceptionally talented team, a strong development and operating portfolio, and a business with significant opportunities ahead. We thank Dave for his many contributions and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
