ENGIE brings together employees and society to collaborate, learn from each other, innovate and forge new paths. We act to accelerate the transition to a carbon-neutral economy by supporting initiatives that produce a positive impact for people on a grand, global scale.
Creating a healthy and safe work environment
At ENGIE, we believe employees should be elevated with a focus on health, safety and well-being across all areas of our business. We hold ourselves to a high standard by providing employee training, tracking our performance, and following our No Life at Risk, No Mind at Risk and No Asset at Risk prevention policies.
Strengthening our commitment to diversity and inclusion
As an industry leader with a global platform, ENGIE embraces a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture and promotes an environment where differences are valued and divergent thinking leads to innovation. In 2020, we furthered our efforts in this regard, undertaking a range of activities to affect positive change in our near- and long-term activities.
Enhancing growth, training and development opportunities
ENGIE believes in providing a work environment that continuously strengthens the skills required to achieve a more responsible, carbon-neutral future. We work with employees to improve, enhance, refine and hone existing capabilities and build new skill sets that can be transferred to any environment. Our aim is to support employees in maximizing their full potential.
Advancing stakeholder engagement in our communities
ENGIE seeks to create economic, social, environmental and societal value for stakeholders as a result of its activities. We rely on members of the community to inform our approach and ensure our efforts have the impact we intend. Our stakeholder engagement policy guides our efforts to gain input and achieve the greatest possible outcomes through our projects and programs.
Engaging with education institutions
As it has for many years, ENGIE continues to partner with universities across the U.S. to assist with learning objectives, career development, and professional networking opportunities. We sponsor workshops, projects and competitions, and we work with a variety of groups, including interns, minorities and MBA students. We have worked with Howard University, Tulane University, Prairie View A&M and Rice University, among many others.
ENGIE continues to broaden the academic options available to K-12 institutions, working with several customers to advance internships and provide hands-on learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Our programs have focused on waste laws, energy efficiency and water. Another initiative supplied science kits (containing 30 items) to 4,000 students. We also led a field trip to a state park so that students could see solar in action and understand how the land has been used for hundreds of years and how water has remained essential to the local ecosystem.
Ethics, Risk and Compliance
ENGIE’s ethics and compliance ambitions and requirements are based on the highest international standards. There is zero tolerance for violations, particularly with regard to fraud and corruption, and complete commitment to ethical rules – those of the countries in which we operate and those we set for ourselves. Strict respect for the essential rules regarding ethics and security is always a paramount priority.
