Customer Demand to Decarbonize
The global energy landscape is undergoing profound change: a rapid period of growth driven by the acceleration of decarbonization and robust customer demand.
ENGIE aims to support its clients in their energy transition.
We have committed to contributing 45Mt to the decarbonization of clients by 2030, from 20Mt in 2020.
Leading in the Development of Industry Standards
ENGIE developed with a group of peers and NGOs, business-ready and practicable principles to account for the contribution to the Decarbonization of Customers. Building on the cross-sectoral principles, ENGIE developed energy-specific guidelines to systematically measure the decarbonization of customers contribution of its products and services. ENGIE is now deploying Decarbonization of Customers measurement across new commercial projects, starting with large projects and progressively applying it to smaller projects. Decarbonization of Customers has also been included as a criteria in ENGIE’s investment decision process.

Leveraging our Expertise to Accelerate Your Journey
ENGIE teams-up with customers to make the most of local, state and federal incentives to help accelerate your decarbonization journey. For example, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022 in the U.S. is the most significant clean energy legislation ever enacted and provides a pathway for the U.S. to meet its goals under the Paris agreement. The IRA supports faster and broader deployment of renewables and storage, will bring greater resiliency to the grid while reducing costs for customers.
