About the Phillies Red Goes Green Program
In April 2008, the Philadelphia Phillies launched the Red Goes Green Program at Citizens Bank Park in an effort
to lead the way in the clean energy movement at professional sports venues. In launching the initiative, the
Phillies became the first Major League Baseball team to join the EPA’s Green Power Partnership Program, a
voluntary program that encourages organizations to buy green power as a way to reduce the environmental
impacts associated with purchased electricity use. Since that time, the Phillies have made tremendous efforts
toward creating a cleaner environment. For more information on these many initiatives, please visit
